Coming Up…..

Math:  We will continue to explore and practice with long division.  It is important that your child continue to review their math facts.  Some of our students are struggling right now because they still have not learned their multiplication facts.

Science:  We will discuss food chains and food webs next week.

Health:   We will examine a chapter on planning a healthful diet.

Language:  Next week we will review finding adjectives and adverbs.

Reading:  We will read and compare the short stories Helen Keller and Prairie School.

Writing:  In writing we will write our final draft of our personal essays and complete some “free writes” in our journals.

Reminders:

• Please double check with your child to make sure he/she has all of his/her assignments turned in.  I will be sending home a note early next week to any student that has any missing work.

• Four full weeks of school still remain.  Unfortunately, some students have started slacking off a bit with completing assignments.  Please remind your child the importance of finishing the year strongly to better prepare them for 4^th grade.

• In math we will be covering concepts that apply basic math facts.  If the students do not know their math facts, they will face extra difficulty the remaining weeks of school.  It would be a good idea to continue to review all math facts for the remaining part of school and during the summer (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.)
